2013 President's Message
To Members and Associates:
Welcome to NYSEIA, the only NY state solar industry advocacy group. As 2012 comes to a close, we can reflect on the year in our rear view mirror and consider the year ahead. 2012 saw solar take a prominent place in public policy. Governor Cuomo’s NY Sun Initiative has put solar on a trajectory in line with our original goals in the Solar Jobs Act. There has also been recognition among state leaders that NY Sun needs to have a longer commitment to attract the investment we all know is waiting to be unleashed. Our neighboring states are clear evidence of how fast solar can scale up.
Our participation in the Solar Coalition is and has been a game changer. Hundreds of companies, dozens of environmental groups, and numerous solar and renewable advocacy groups have come together and form a formidable voice on behalf of good solar policy.
